|The new Kan Eang@pier|
Kan Eang simply means "feel at ease"—as this restaurant is situated in one of the most relaxing spots on Phuket it has become a "must see" for all visitors; boasting a huge number of local loyal customers who return again and again. The restaurant opened in 1973. Back then, there was a small grocery store on the site, and as some fishermen could not pay for their meals fresh fish and seafood were accepted as payment and meals were shared with them in a communal atmosphere. As time went on, Kan Eang became increasingly popular because of the high quality of its local cuisine and seafood. Kan Eang continued with its simple look until 2007, when the owner, who is Phuketborn, decided that it was time to change the appearance of the restaurant to meet the expectations of the growing tourism business in Phuket. The restaurant closed for seven months for renovations and reopened as "Kan Eang@pier", making it truly a boutique world-class seafood restaurant. The new Kan Eang@pier concept is a mixture of local and modern design with an outdoor patio and Salas with thatched roofs. There's also been a menu expansion with more Western cuisine and Chinese–Thai dishes plus delicious Japanese dishes such as Lobster Sashimi, prawn tempura and Teppanyaki.
Kan Eang@pier has been a favorite restaurant
among locals and visitors for more than 40 years now.
Today, Kan Eang@pier continues to service its customers by using the best available ingredients and signature techniques all the while creating a harmonious atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meals in peace.
The restaurant is situated in an amazing waterfront location at the very edge of Chalong Bay beside a bustling pier offering great views of yachts, sunsets and all the activity in the local waterfront community. All this combines to make it a perfect venue for weddings, private parties, business functions and theme nights.
You can enjoy drinks by the waterside at the restaurant's VBar, with its variety of signature cocktails — a great place to celebrate your business gathering or meeting with friends. And Kan Eang@pier has also opened an outlet called VSET to serve the western dishes and grilled seafood and meat dishes to enhance the unique dining experiences it offers to residents and tourists.
